Terp Scheduler iOS App

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Terp Scheduler iOS (fictional name) is a native iOS app for the Agency and Interpreter platforms of the Terp Scheduler web app. The Interpreter platform has been in use for some time, whereas the Agency platform is new to the iOS app. I completed the design work iOS for Agency MVP. The features in the Agency platform MVP included:

• View a Job Index
• View a Job
• Edit a Job

ROLE

I was the lead designer for the Terp Scheduler iOS for Agency MVP. During the design process I worked closely with the iOS Developer and the Technical Product Manager. We had a continuous and open line of communication to better the product.

OVERVIEW

Create a Job and Edit a Job were both very complex features. The job form has many fields and many of those fields are dependent on other fields being completed first.

CHALLENGES

The functionality of the form had already been determined in the web app, so the functionality did not cause any major design challenges. The major challenge for this project was adhering to established design guidelines to stay visually consistent with the web app while also staying consistent with iOS design patterns, so iOS users could easily use the product.

SOLUTIONS

To prepare for this project I conducted a lot of research into iOS design patterns and looked to other applications for inspiration on how to handle various form inputs. After gathering several examples, the iOS Developer, Technical Product Manager and I discussed the best possible solutions.

Collaboration between the three of us during this project was crucial. We spoke almost every day as I worked through building out mockups and prototypes.
